I have known Laura Jones since 2007, the year my husband and I decided to remodel our house in southwest Arlington that overlooks the lake. The architecture is basically contemporary, the exterior made of large windows and stone. Laura helped me change the traditional inside furnishings to a contemporary feeling that would flow to the outside.

She accomplished this through the use of tropical indoor trees and flowers, gorgeous pots that blended with the furniture and art, and an indoor rock garden that brought the outside indoors. This was a trial and error process, and Laura was so accommodating in creating the look I wanted to achieve. It took many trips to my house so she could introduce a new tree or a special vase.

When it was complete, I’m happy to say my house is a showpiece. Every year Laura returns to update the look or replace a faded bush.

I highly recommend Laura for her talent, dedication to a project, and her ability to work with an owner to create a magical environment.

I met Laura through a referral and upon her first visit to my home, we hit it off immediately… She immediately envisioned what I needed to create that very special unique warm, inviting environment, and she diligently put together a plan of action. Laura Jones of Avant Gardens of Silk is a visual and highly perceptive person. That is one of her gifts. Laura has the gift of seeing the beauty or the best feature in objects, placement, shape, color, and fabric. Recognizing the best features in an object allows Laura to see beyond the possibilities.

The other part of being an artist/designer is listening to your customer’s goals. Each customer has their own ideas and visions in their mind as well and that is one more gift that Laura displays. Laura understands that each customer is different; sometimes customers have their own vision in mind. That is the point where it really gets fun; the point where designer and customer share their visions and discuss the possibilities.

I learned so much from Laura and have enjoyed her insight, kindness, humor and of course, the fresh new look of my home.

Avant Gardens has always been here for me, whether dressing up a new home with beautiful arrangements, providing props for a party or putting up our annual Christmas tree. You have been here on time, always accommodating my schedule and always doing a wonderful job. Thank you so much!
